Managed independently and separately from MPA, the Marine Spill Response Corporation (MSRC) is the leading oil spill removal organization (OSRO) in the United States, providing comprehensive and reliable spill response services nationwide. MSRC provides a full range of oil spill and other emergency response services in coastal and inland environments, including spill prevention and mitigation, exercise and training support and disaster recovery services.

Grants provided by MPA has enabled MSRC to prioritize investing in specialized oil spill recovery assets and expertly trained personnel that are both dedicated on a full-time basis to oil spill response. MSRC utilizes an approach that emphasizes control over the critical parts of integrated response system — more so than any other OSRO — allowing for a quick and effective response.

MPA funding has empowered MSRC to invest in best-in-class resources that represent the broadest inventory of spill response equipment and vessel platforms. In recent years MSRC has renewed its response vessel fleet by adding Fast Response Vessels (FRVs) for enhanced recovery timelines and more flexibility to respond to various spill scenarios and operating environments.

MSRC has strong relationships with the regulatory community, and its compliance with applicable regulations is unmatched. Only MPA members are eligible for listing MSRC as OSRO in response plans. Learn more about becoming a member of MPA for the ability to contract with MSRC.
