About MPA

The Marine Preservation Association (MPA) is a privately funded non-profit organization dedicated to mitigating the impact caused by oil spills on U.S. waters and protecting vital marine environments. MPA achieves this mission by financially supporting the Marine Spill Response Corporation (MSRC), the nation’s largest and most comprehensive oil spill response organization.

MSRC is equipped with best-in-class fleet of specialized vessels, essential recovery systems, and highly qualified teams trained for rapid deployment. Through its funding, MPA remains committed to safeguarding U.S. waters and fostering environmental stewardship across the oil industry.

Member Statistics

MPA secures funding from its members and serves as a strategic planning forum in support of effective and efficient oil spill and emergency response capabilities. Membership in MPA is open to all segments of the energy and energy transportation industries, giving companies the advantage of contracting with MSRC for direct access to its extensive response resources. Additionally, members can list MSRC as their Oil Spill Removal Organization (OSRO) in response plans filed with government and regulatory agencies.
